WALT: follow the statistical inquiry.
I found out that there are more people in rm 3 that have 5 people in their family than people in rm 10. And rm 10 has 4 people with a family of six and rm 3 does not have any.I think the government should spend it's money on cheaper food at the supermarket or just more food, because there are lot's of big families, and they will need lot's of nutrients and vitamins a,b,c,d,e,etc...
Next time I think I could ask more people from around Palmerston North.I could go around shopping centres or supermarkets in the public. Then I could ask the peopple"How many people are there in your family?"

WALT: critically respond.

Describing:
This painting relates to Marilyn Monroe. The artist has used a variety of colours. This type of painting is Repetition.
Analysing:
The artist is expressing his mood with this drawing by painting 9 pictures of Marilyn Monroe. He might of been in love with her, or he might of chosen her as a good type of woman to draw, so that he could include a bit of detail.
Interpreting:
I think that the artist is trying to show that using repetition can be very effective.
Evaluating:
I think that using different colours but with the same picture gives it a great effect and that the people might like it with a yellow backround. I quite like it -Emily
I think that this painting really stands out. It gives me a warm colourful feeling inside. -Sumak

Wala: different types of poems.
Limericks
Limericks are humourous poems that have 5 ryhming lines.
The 1st, 2nd, and 5th line rhyme.
And the 3rd & 4th rhyme with each other.
For example:
There once was a cranky giraffe
Who hadn't laughed since he was a calf.
But one day a bunny
Said a story quite funny,
So he finally laughed a good laugh.

In school, in Connected Curriculum, we have been learning about different regions in New Zealand.
My inquiry partners are Paige and Masina.
We have been studying the East Coast and the Stewart Island, and the most fun thing we have done so far is making a poster with New Zealand on it.
Then we added our 3 paragraphs we had written about the environment, tourism, and cliamte in our regions. We added colourful pictures to our writing.
Once we had finished that, we made a "Who wants to be a millionaire?" quiz about New Zealand.
It was all very fun, and we each learned something different.
I hope to be able to do something interesting for our next big question after the holidays!!
